Episode 71.5: Thoughts?

I was strolling around today and I thought of a hypothetical situation that was at once so amusing and unfathomable that I had to stop and giggle for a little while.

If you are dating someone, does it still count as stalking?

I thought about it good and hard and came to the conclusion that it still counts.

  1. A stalker is defined by UD as an anonymous accomplice. So only if it's a blind date, where you and your partner both walk around with blindfolds on.

  2. Perhaps "speedgoggles" could look into WTF the deal is with young biddies getting hit by dear?? I am sure there must be a speed aspect involved with this!

Now, what I'm saying here is this:

You're dating someone, and you have a creepy file on your desktop with photos of them that they don't know about. Your screensaver is of them. You've been dating for a week, two tops. Also, you sometimes like to camp out side their house with binoculars, in the rain. When they text you and ask you what you're doing, you say "homework". The individual in question is under the misguided impression that you are a normal person.

I have a feeling that would still be defined as stalking. Impending break-up, at the very least, unless the individual in question has very low self esteem, or is simultaneously stalking you, without you knowing it either.
